Mans most prefered storage media has been the portable ones. The floppy drive to start with. It had a magneitc disc made with the material that magnetic tape is made. The head reads and writes data into it. The highest storage a floppy ever reached was 1.44 MB
Next was the tape drive, a tape could store huge amounts of data, but would take ages to write into.
Then came the thumb drive, which can store upto 8 GB.
These days, the pocket hard drives of 250 and 500 gb are in the catwalk. plug it into your usb and store music pictures porn anythingyou want.
With removable hard drives, you can maek pcs without any internall hard drives, and you can boot any pc with your own pocket hard drive and boot it up witih your own preference
