I registered a domain called svie.ws, on which I was planning a multi user blog so that it would sound something like yourname.svie.ws, or ravi.svie.ws (ravis views)

I registered the domain, created the hosting and was waiting for it to come up, and after 4 hours, what I saw was this. Domain is expiring in 2009, so pl renew it at the earliest. What does this mean? Is this an error? If such errors happen, how safe are these domain registrars? Would the best way to take domains from be directly from ICANN or the respective registrar for the extension?
