Parking at Sedo

Parking your car costs you money while parking your domain pays you money. I had a few domains that I registered out of fancy, and I just put them up for sale at sedo.com, and guess what, 2 of them sold for $250 each and another 1 for about 400, and I had never expected to get anything more than $50 for those domains.

This is a cool business, buy domains that you think are cool, and put them up for sale, and interested parties might come forward to buy it.

And the Next Trip to Goa is Planned

Its just about 4 months since I first visited Goa, stayed there for a week, and time has come for me to plan my next trip there. During the season, which is during December. I have been celebrating my birthday alone for the past few years, and this year too I have planned to pack my wife away to her home for a month during December and settle myself in Goa for about 15 days from November 28th to December 13th. The bloody airfares have gone up, and I guess I will have to travel by train this time and save about 8000 bucks.

I will not be taking a hotel reservation this time. No online booking or nothing. I plan to land there and change rooms every 2 days across every part of Goa and enjoy the whole of Goa. God a budget of Rs 50,000 all inclusive. A jeep would cost Rs 1000 a day, thats Rs 15000, stay would cost another 20,000 in total, and beer would cost another Rs 5000, then the remaining would be for food and fuel. That is a lavish budget I guess, for a man traveling alone to Goa, and that too a low profile Indian who has to blog for a living, and design websites once in a while.

Texas ATVs

Have you seen quad and ATV racing ever? Atleast on TV? Texas ATVs gives four-wheeler enthusiasts a place to interact and share information. Members can use our site to find nearby trails, get tips from other people in the sport and more.

The website texasatvs.com is a huge website that contains a forum, media center, events notification, resource list, list of riding areas and list of clubs/groups.

It also has a cool photo gallery of all the sexy 4 wheelers, and a video gallery of vehicles fighting the tough terrains.

The term “All-Terrain Vehicle” or ATV in North America (quad-bike or quad elsewhere) is used in a general sense to describe any of a number of small open motorized buggies and tricycles designed for off-road use. However, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) defines an ATV as a vehicle that travels on low pressure tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, and with handlebars for steering control. By the current ANSI definition it is intended for use by a single operator, although a change to include 2-seaters (in tandem) is under consideration.

The rider sits on and operates these vehicles like a motorcycle, but the extra wheels give more stability at slow speeds. Although typically equipped with three or four wheels, six-wheel models exist for specialized applications. Engine sizes of ATVs currently for sale in the United States (as of 2008 products) range from 49 cc to 950 cc.

How to sell Hosting Part II

Why Advertise?

Having started a business, it will always cost you to own it. As in a hosting, you will need to pay for the servers, and perhaps your office, so one month of delayed advertising means one month of expense wasted.

So, as and when your site is ready, it is best to carry on with advertising immediately, and make sure that you have sufficient staff who can take care of the manual work for you. It would be completely foolish to wait for the site to show up in top positions in the search engines how ever good the SEO has been. Till that happens, use various modes such as PPC, Banner Advertising, Link Exchange, Paid Directory Listings and affiliate marketing thru your existing clients.

How to advertise

Payperclick is a good start. Google Adsense, Yahoo and MSN all offer PPC. It is not advisable to go for adbrite and other related networks where they do only content publishing. People who whish to buy hosting always go to search engines to look for available options, and then to directories thru search engines. They dont really visit blogs to click on ads there. And in my experience, there have been too many fraud clicks in the content network, and I ended up wasting a lot of money. So as long as you dont have a budget to waste on advertisements, or if you watn to drive traffic to your site the PPC was and hopefully increase your Alexa Ranking.

In my opinion it is always to advertise on searches only, meaning that your ads appear on the search results page of the search engines titled as sponsored searches.
