The magic of online printing

Through my life I have hated printers. You need to ue them every day or the cartridge would get clotted up, and if you print every day when you have nothing to print, youwon’t have any ink left in the cartridge when you really need to print something.

So I guess printing should be left to the professionals who would love to run their printers round the clock. You could print your business cards, letters, tickets and club flyer trough these services.

And the Next Trip to Goa is Planned

Its just about 4 months since I first visited Goa, stayed there for a week, and time has come for me to plan my next trip there. During the season, which is during December. I have been celebrating my birthday alone for the past few years, and this year too I have planned to pack my wife away to her home for a month during December and settle myself in Goa for about 15 days from November 28th to December 13th. The bloody airfares have gone up, and I guess I will have to travel by train this time and save about 8000 bucks.

I will not be taking a hotel reservation this time. No online booking or nothing. I plan to land there and change rooms every 2 days across every part of Goa and enjoy the whole of Goa. God a budget of Rs 50,000 all inclusive. A jeep would cost Rs 1000 a day, thats Rs 15000, stay would cost another 20,000 in total, and beer would cost another Rs 5000, then the remaining would be for food and fuel. That is a lavish budget I guess, for a man traveling alone to Goa, and that too a low profile Indian who has to blog for a living, and design websites once in a while.

The new Featured Writer at Helium : Me

Guess who is the new featured writer at Helium’s Featured Writer at the Computers and Technology Section. Me. I didnt know that and nor did helium send me a notification, but a fellow helium user sent me a mail seeing this. I dont know how long I am going to be a featured writer listed on this page, so I just took a screenshot of the page.

I guess it should be an honour that Helium has selected me as a featured writer for this section. Heres the screenshot.

Gmail Updates

I woke up in the morning, and the first thing that I always do when I get is up turn on my computer or laptop and only after that go wash my face, and come back to see the computer booted and i login and check my mails first. The mails are my life line, 2nd to mobile phones.

But Im not with mobile phones these days much. Not talking a lot, and I have asked everyone to mail me only, and not to bug me over phone. Im on vacation for God’s sake.

So, this morning when I logged into my gmail account, I noticed a few changes. Since im into various activities, and my gmail is the only contact point for all, I guess I should be the only user of gmail having the largest number of message filters, about 250 of them, and about 40 labels on the sides, where the important mails get filtered into and skip the inbox, and unwanted mails such as jaxter invitations, orkut friend requests everything goes into the trash can automatically, and never make it to the inbox.

This monring, I saw that the labels had a small box on their right side, and when I opened mails from these labels, the name of the label appeared below the subject of the mail, and when I clicked on it, it just took me to the page where all mails in that label were listed.

Then when I clicked on the box on the right of the label in the left menu of the mail, it gave me options to color the label, and when I chose a color to the label, in the all mail view, all labels were highlighted with the color that I had chosen, and it made it a lot more easier to spot the mails. Earlier, thanks to my bad eye sight, I had to look closely to read what the label is. Now, that part has become easier. Reading the subject line of the from address has nto been a problem for me yet.

And, after all these, google is still in beta.
