Fancy Christmas Decorations

Christmas is high winter time in the Northern Hemisphere of the planet, and it is usually a time when no one goes for work, and would like to spend the entire week till the new year indoors. Christmas is never complete without a christmas tree and Christmas wreaths to decorate and give the right ambience for the kids at home and the grown ups alike.

Grand Father’s Clock too large for the shelf

Henry Clay Work, 1876

My grandfather’s clock was too large for the shelf,
So it stood ninety years on the floor.
It was taller by half, than the old man himself,
Though it weighed not a pennyweight more.
It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born,
And was always his treasure and pride.
Chorus:
But it stopped short, never to go again,
When the old man died.
Ninety years without slumbering, tick, tock, tick, tock,
His life seconds numbering, tick, tock, tick, tock,
It stopped short never to go again,
When the old man died.

2. In watching its pendulum swing to and fro,
Many hours had he spent while a boy;
And in childhood and manhood, the clock seemed to know,
And to share both his grief and his joy,
For it struck twenty-four when he entered at the door,
With a blooming and beautiful bride.
Chorus:

3. My grandfather said that of those he could hire
Not a servant so faithful he found
For it wasted no time and had but one desire
At the close of each week to be wound
And it kept in its place, not a frown upon its face
And it’s hands never hung by its side.
Chorus:

4. It rang an alarm in the dead of the night
An alarm that for years had been dumb
And we knew that his spirit was pluming for flight
That his hour of departure had come
Still the clock kept the time, with a soft and muffled chime
As we silently stood by its side.
Chorus:

This is a song that I learned in my 2nd grade. In those days, a Grandfather’s clock amused me a lot. And, it still does. And I am surprised to see that certain clock stores online are still selling grandfather’s clocks iwth the same old elegance. Even to these days, grandfather clocks do attract good amounts of attraction and attention, and if you have one of those in your Hall, leave it right there and dont touch it. And if you dont have one, dial 1-811-4clocks or visit www.1-800-4clocks.com to get yourself an elegant Grandfather’s clock

It pays to advertise

For a bit of advertisment and publicity, anything could happen. Just become popular, and for some amoutn of publicity from you, you will be given anything for free or big chunks of money. Or if you know a good number of people, any business would want you to spread the word about them to these businesses. Well, the best way to spread these words around is by means of greeting cards. If its a new year, naturally you send out greeting cards to people you know, and if you get these cards for free, the sponsors would put their names at the bottom of the back page of the envelope, and they get the advertisment, and you get the free cards, and everyone is happy.

Lets say that someone wants to promote soaps and shampoo. They print their product at the back of the greeting card, and they give it to you for you to distribute, and when you distribute it to about 200 people, 200 people come to know about the new product, and you save about $200 in greeting cards expense. This way when you are given 200 greeting cards for free, or more, you would feel free to distribute it to as many people as you know, and the company would even distribute it for you so that you dont have to take the touble of stamping and sealing the covers and posting them.
