There is a bit of China everywehre in Kerala. The houses, temples and any building looks chinese, Kerala uses the ancient Chinese Fishing nets, most local festivals are connected with the Chinese. For example, The important festival in Chettikulangara temple near Mavelikara is the Kumbha Bharani festival conducted during February-March. The important festivity associated with this utsavam is “kettu-Kazhcha’ which resembles the Chinese festival celebrated on the birthday of Budha. Also, Mavelikara is a place in Kerala where one can find The Statue of Buddha in Seated Position, from the 9th Century C.E. The seated Buddha is in front of famous Sri Krishna Swami temple.

The Kerala Government says in its tourist guides that ages ago, the Chinese used to trade with Kerala. I think thats bullshit. There were chinese people here before Aadhi Shankaracharya arrived in Kerala. He drove them out, but somehoe the people seem to have retained the ancient culture still. Thats why in a stupid country such as India, there is 100% literacy only in Kerala. People there know the value of education.

Malayalam is a mix of Tamil and Sanskrit though. There has been no influence of the Chinese language.

A so called freedom fighter got beaten up by the British terribly, and then he quit freedom fighting and started preaching the Gita and wrote a few books himself for a living. The man was Aurobindo Ghosh. People always say that there is more money in there than anywhere else in the world, and that there is more drugs, sex and even child sex abuse in Auroville. Even BBC has made a documentary on it recently.

People do a lot of things in the name of faith. Faith doesnt come commercially. People shouldn’t have to buy books printed by these establishments, or buy other merchandize when they walk out of these places. People who do business with the organization shouldn’t have to pay an extra price just because there is a brand name called Auroville. It is not holy, but is just another business empire, where loads of illegal activities too take place under the cover of Faith.
