Well, I was curious, and made a few wpmu websites. On top of every page on this blog you will find links to the popular wpmu sites that I have got. It has got a fair number of users, not over 3 digits yet, but just yesterday I realized that most of the blogs that are created in those multi user sites are spam.

One good way is to staff someone and get your blog monitored and check every new blog registration and repeatedly check all blogs for bad content. Well, it is hard. What on world is easy? Nothing. If you think you can’t do it, sent your traffic to mymo.in, and I’ll host their blogs for free.

I woke up in the morning, and the first thing that I always do when I get is up turn on my computer or laptop and only after that go wash my face, and come back to see the computer booted and i login and check my mails first. The mails are my life line, 2nd to mobile phones.

But Im not with mobile phones these days much. Not talking a lot, and I have asked everyone to mail me only, and not to bug me over phone. Im on vacation for God’s sake.

So, this morning when I logged into my gmail account, I noticed a few changes. Since im into various activities, and my gmail is the only contact point for all, I guess I should be the only user of gmail having the largest number of message filters, about 250 of them, and about 40 labels on the sides, where the important mails get filtered into and skip the inbox, and unwanted mails such as jaxter invitations, orkut friend requests everything goes into the trash can automatically, and never make it to the inbox.

This monring, I saw that the labels had a small box on their right side, and when I opened mails from these labels, the name of the label appeared below the subject of the mail, and when I clicked on it, it just took me to the page where all mails in that label were listed.

Then when I clicked on the box on the right of the label in the left menu of the mail, it gave me options to color the label, and when I chose a color to the label, in the all mail view, all labels were highlighted with the color that I had chosen, and it made it a lot more easier to spot the mails. Earlier, thanks to my bad eye sight, I had to look closely to read what the label is. Now, that part has become easier. Reading the subject line of the from address has nto been a problem for me yet.

And, after all these, google is still in beta.

If you are running a huge business with thousands of clients, then one way to retain them and make them come back over and over again is by giving them promotional offers once in a while. Just good service is not enough. Well, if you do good business, according to the books, that is all you need to attract clients. But the world is so corrupt and the people are so greedy and they would come to you only if they feel that they get more than what they are paying for. So one good way is to share your profits with them. Give them freebies once in a while, give them gift baskets or give them holiday tickets. Excite them with discount coupons, and run a draw and give them free holidays.

With these people would get excited doing business with you, and naturally your client base will grow.

I was just going thru thespam messages right now, and found a spam comment posted by some bot. It said it was from Bill Gates, and the email address that was mentioned was billy@msn.com

The text in the comment was filled with ascii chareters and i couldnt understand a thing. But billy@msn.com brought a small smile on my face.

When it comes to web hosting, you should be very sure on whom you are selecting to trust your website with. Your website would contain huge databases or contact inforation of so many people in case you are running a blog or a forum, and though you try to maintain a very strict Privacy policy if your host steals your data, you are dead.

Well, so how do you choose a hosting company? You need to follow a system that is present everywehre, something like a web hosting rating system that classifies the actual service of a company without any partiality and give the actual picture of the company to the public who look for top rated hosting companies.

Webhostingrating.com is one such company, and it gives out web hosting awards once in a while to top performing web hosting companies in the world. It also contains quite a lot of web hosting tutorials which are designed to guide the users as well as newbie web hosting companies on giving quality services to clients, and for clients to know on what to expect from hosting companies, and knowing your rights and stuff.

The electricity department headed by Arcot Veerasamy in India is propagating a strange sort of message these days. To save power, let your Fans run with your AC, and that way the air circulation will be better and therefore your power bills will be low. What a foolish message to speread out. Well, a person induvidually might be smart and intelligent, but collectively, people are dumb. Especially Indians.

When you let the Ceiling Fan running along with the AC, the AC has to take the trouble of cooling the heat produced by the Fan, as well, and the fan’s air flow will be vertical while the ACs airflow will be horizontal, and that would disrupt the airflow completely, and the room will not be evenly cooled, and that will make the thermostat switch malfunction, and thus one part of your room will be really cool while another part would be completely hot.

Doing so would only waste even more electricity. The best way to save electricity is to set the AC at 24 degrees and let it run without switching it off, and thus the room temperature will be maintained in 24, and the AC would not have to take pains in managint the fluctuating temeratures. if you really want to save power, make sure that your room is well insulated and that no air leaks out, and make sure that you do not open or close the doors or windows often when the AC is running.
